Girls Basketball wins first round tournament game

Our Girls Varsity Basketball team won their first-round tournament game at Wellsville earlier this week in convincing fashion by a score of 59-27.

The team defense was relentless from start to finish, capped by a massive blocked shot from Jillyan Stevens at the end. Grace Finefrock led the way on both ends of the floor with career highs in points (23) and steals (6). Lily Belden also recorded her career high by scoring 19 points. Sarah Belden tied a career-high in assists with 5 while also corralling 6 rebounds. Alicia Varacky joined her on the boards with a team-high 7 rebounds. The highlight reel of the night was a perfectly executed alley-oop from Emily Schmidt to her sister Sara in the final minutes.

Their second-round game is at home tomorrow, Sat. Feb. 24, against David Anderson at 1pm. Remember tickets must be purchased on the Hometown Ticket App. Passes cannot be used and students must purchase a ticket.

Hope to see you there and go, Cru!
