Student Organization Updates

There are many student organizations and clubs that students can get involved with, in addition to athletics. In fact, 99% of our student body is involved in at least one student organization!

Chess Club:
Chess club runs during the winter and spring season! The next club meeting will be tomorrow, February 21st, from 3-3:45. All skill levels are welcome! The meetings will be in room 16 and will be held every other Wednesday.

Choir/Liturgical Music Group:
Central Catholic offers something a little different, faith is at the heart of all that we do. Choir is no exception. Students interested in joining a choir or who have music interests have the opportunity to share their talents. The choir, or "Liturgical Music Group," performs the music at our worship services and Masses. Students will also have the opportunity to share their talents with others outside of school, through visits to places such as nursing homes and elementary schools to perform. For more information, please see Mrs. Dick, in room 305, or Mrs. Ostertag in the Advancement Office in the Guidance hallway.

Digital News Team:
Anyone interested in graphic design or video production is encouraged to check out our digital news team. Students have the opportunity to come up with graphics and video for our digital scoreboards and social media accounts, run live video feeds during games, and run our digital scoreboard. Training is provided. Please see Mrs. Cramer, our marketing director, in the Alumni & Development Office, across from the teacher's lounge in the guidance hallway, or email Mrs. Cramer at [email protected].

Drama Club:
The Drama Club performed a fantastic fall show, "Clue." Now they are preparing for their next show, our spring play in March. Anyone who is interested should see Mr. Scholl. Information will also be out soon for the joint spring musical.

E-Sports:
Do you enjoy playing video games? Would you like to play with a team? If so, come join Esports Ohio. For more information about the team stop by room 215 to see Mr. Knore.

Health Heart Club:
The Health Heart Club is one of our newest student organizations. For more information, please see Mrs. Paul.

Language Clubs:
We have a Spanish Club and a French Club, both organizations are very popular with our student body. The clubs have regular breakfast gatherings, visit restaurants, host parties, have craft nights, and did we mention eat lots of food! For information on the clubs please see Madame Russell for French and Sra Carlson for Spanish.

Liturgical Ministries:
We have a team of students who help with our worship services, each of them is personally involved with our faith experiences. Students can sign-up to be servers, readers, singers, instrumentalists, and communion distributors. Please see Mrs Dick or Deacon Randy for more information.

Pickleball:
Anyone who wants more information about pickleball should see Mrs. Paulus.

Profit Ninjas:
Central's entrepreneurship club! Speech & Debate:
What do Oprah Winfrey, Adam Sandler, Brad Pitt, Bobby Kennedy, and Stephen Colbert all have in common? They all competed in Speech and debate in high school. If you like to argue, write, act, discuss politics, and want to participate in an activity that will make you a leader and set you up for a successful future, please see Mrs. Harris in room 208.

Spring Musical:
In addition to two plays offered right on campus, in our Theatre 303 Black Box Theatre, thespians can participate in a yearly musical, held at the historic Canton Palace Theatre. This joint musical, done in partnership with St. Thomas Aquinas, is held in March or April of each year. Students can be in the show on stage or participate backstage.
