STA Key Club Visits Akron-Canton Foodbank

On Friday, October 27, 2023, STA Key Club helped provide 5,386 meals for our neighbors in need as they volunteered their time at the Akron-Canton Food Bank! They spent their morning sorting, inspecting, and packing the protein delivery for local food banks.
After they did their shift, they were taken on a tour of the Akron-Canton Foodbank and got to see how it operates. This foodbank serves 8 counties and offers 600 programs to the community to help with food insecurity.

Once STA Students finished their morning at the Foodbank, they went back to STA where they were served lunch and had an in-depth presentation by Alliance YWCA Executive Director and STA Parent, Mrs. Stacie Bacorn. During this presentation, Mrs. Bacorn explained the seriousness of the food insecurity within Stark County, Ohio, and how our students can help. Thank you to the Akron-Canton Foodbank and the Alliance YWCA for continuing their efforts to eliminate food insecurities within our community and sharing that knowledge with St. Thomas Aquinas students.
