Our Speech & Debate Team is in full swing for their 2023-2024 regular season. As they do each year, they are enjoying success at each tournament they attend.
Placing at the BeaverCreek Sun Invitational in Dayton were:
Isabel Lombardi in Drama, taking 2nd place in the novice division.
Tim Short, Alyssa Embree and Morgan Knight each broke to the final round & earned bids to the state championship in Congress.
Alyssa took 6th and Tim took 2nd overall.
BeaverCreek marked Tim’s 5th state championship bid which means he is fully qualified to compete at the state championship in March.
At the McKinley tournament, our Congressional Debaters all earned additional state championship bids.
Morgan Knight completed her series and earned her spot on the state championship team.
The team rounded out the day placing:
Tim Short 1st place
Alyssa Embree 3rd
Morgan Knight 6th
The team competed last weekend at Wadsworth, where Tim Short placed 5th in Congressional Debate.
Good luck to the entire team as they compete at the Wooster Tournament this weekend.
