St. Thomas Aquinas selects Scott Giammarco as assistant principal

St. Thomas Aquinas High School is pleased to announce their selection of Scott Giammarco as the new assistant principal. Giammarco is well known in the Aquinas community; he has served as the varsity boys basketball coach for Aquinas since 2018.

He has taught at Canton McKinley High School for 20 years. In addition to teaching duties, he has served as a basketball coach previously at McKinley, GlenOak High School, Norwayne High School, and Hoover High School. His coaching accolades include coaching a team to the “Sweet 16” Regional Tournament and being named the Repository’s Coach of the Year in 2011-2012.

Stark County Catholic High Schools President, Reverend Donald King shares, “we are excited to welcome Coach Giammarco to the building full-time. He has built a strong relationship with our families here at Aquinas and come to understand our community, since joining us as a coach in 2018, which makes him a natural fit for this role. His work with students on the court has demonstrated that he is committed to our mission of Truth, Scholarship, and Excellence. We believe that he and Mrs. Teresa Caserta (who recently accepted the head principal position) will make an excellent team that will maintain high standards and offer our families the best experience possible.”

Giammarco studied Comprehensive Social Studies and received his Bachelor of Education from Walsh University in 2000, his Master of Educational Leadership from Concordia University in 2014, and his Principal Licensure from Ashland University in 2016.

He and his wife Stacey, along with their children Gabriella, Lewis, and JoJo, live in North Canton. They are parishioners of St. Paul Catholic Church in North Canton.
