Preston Mitchell, 2020
Preston received four awards at Saint Mary of the Woods College for the 2022 track & field season - River States Conference Champion of Character in the sport of Men’s Outdoor Track & Field, River States Conference Scholar-Athlete in the sport of Men’s Indoor Track & Field, River States All-Conference in the Hammer Throw, and Saint Mary of the Woods MVP Field Event recipient. Preston currently holds the Men’s outdoor school record for Discus Throw and Hammer Throw.

2021 STACC Alumni Participants
Earlier this summer, alumni from both Central Catholic and St. Thomas Aquinas came together for the 10th Annual STACC Alumni Golf Outing. This year, 25 teams and 96 golfers participated on June 12 at Sable Creek Golf Course. The event was sponsored by more than 50 sponsors. They were able to raise $7,500 to give back to St. Thomas Aquinas and Central Catholic High Schools! The 2021 winning team consisted of St. Thomas Aquinas faculty and alumni: Mike Fetters ('08), Kevin Hill, Ryan Hill, and Tim Neary with a score of -16. Over the past 10 years, the participants of the STACC have raised approximately $40,000 for our Stark County Catholic High Schools, had 700 people participate in the event, and has been supported by more than 200 sponsors. Aquinas alumni have won four times.

Catherine Duplin Sherman, 1973
Catherine is the volunteer Parish Pro-Life Representative for the Diocese of Youngstown for St. Louis in Louisville.  

Jeremie Changet, 1996, and Erica Labriola, 1998
Jeremie proposed to Erica recently at Sirpilla Stadium!  Erica was an STA cheerleader and returned home to her alma mater for the surprise proposal! Congrats and best wishes to both Knights!




Roland Dreussi, 1970
Roland married Zita (Fernandez) Dreussi. They have four children: Roman (Jenny) Dreussi, Alanna Dreussi, Maggie (Dreussi) Moll, and Vincent Dreussi. Roland retired from his job as Executive Secretary of the Northeast Ohio Newspaper Guild-CWA, Local 1. He is a member of Little Flower Catholic Parish. Recording Secretary for Hall of Fame Central Labor Council, AFL-CIO, and Founder of the Bring Your Own Bicycle Club (2006).

Michele Kelley, 1970
Michele is Professor Emerita at the University of Illinois at Chicago Health Sciences Colleges. She lives near her four-generation family in Salt Lake County, UT. She is active with the Society of Adolescent Health and Medicine; and enjoys arts and music festivals, mountain biking, yoga,
nature walks, scientific publishing, and environmental advocacy.

Karen (Fasone) Weaver, 1974
Karen has a farm with horses, donkeys, and goats, which keeps her busy 24-7.

Denise (O’Connor) McCafferty, 1980
Denise is in her 36th year of teaching. She currently teaches biology, anatomy, and physiology at Holy Name HS. She has three sons. Her son Ryan is an anesthesiologist in Columbus where he lives with his wife Molly and son Jack. Her son Sean is an attorney for a private practice and engaged to Lindsey. Her youngest son is a resident physician at University Hospital. She and her husband Joe will celebrate their 35th anniversary in 2021.

Kristine (Karam) Botti, 1982
Kristine is currently teaching Middle School Math & Title 1 for Reading & Math for grades 5-8 at St. Mary’s Massillon.

Monica (Westbeld) Oancea, 1983
Monica and David Oancea were married at St. Joe’s Nursing Home on July 4, 2020. Monica’s mother, who was a resident, was able to watch the ceremony through the window.

Charlotte Dougherty, 1983
Charlotte is currently the Dean of seventh grade and Director of Summer Camp Pegasus at MICDS in St. Louis, MO.

Christopher (CJ) Obmann, 1984
Christopher moved to North Carolina and currently lives in Duck with his wife, Jackie.

Rebekah "Beka" Eisenbarth, 1992
H-P Products has announced that she will become their president and chief operating officer beginning June 30th.

Dino D'Aurelio, 1990
Dino is a US Navy veteran, now employed as the New Vehicle Sales Manager at Coughlin Ford of Pataskala, a 2020 Ford President's Award-winning dealership. Dino is married to Lisa D'Aurelio with two children - Sophia, 14, and Rocco, 10.

Bridget (Brately) England, 2012
Bridget is currently still in the area, working as Assistant Director of Admissions at the University of Mount Union.

Megan Pritchett, 2012
Megan is currently working as a clinical nurse informaticist for Oasis Surgery Center, which is privately owned and operated by Omni Orthopedic Surgeons.

Kyle O’Connor, 2017
Kyle recently celebrated a rivalry win against Navy with a 15-0 score in the first Army-Navy Game played at the United States Military Academy since 1943.

Kristan (Welcsh) Heller, 1987
Kristan is the Director of Technology at St. Mary Akron Catholic School. She’s been married 28 years and has three children - Alyssa who is at Xavier University Grad School, Lauren who is a recent graduate of the University of Notre Dame and a current grad student at Ohio State, and Michael who is a Sophomore at John Carroll University.
 
Christopher J. (CJ) Obmann, 1984
CJ recently retired after 33 years with Ernst & Young, LLP where he served as Managing Director. He currently lives in California.
 
Kalee Soenhlen, 2017
Kalee was selected for the Ohio State Student-Athlete Advisory Committee for 2020-21.
 
Tim Waldron, 1969
Tim’s wife passed away after 47 wonderful years together. They raised four children and now have eight grandchildren. Tim is a trained biblical crisis counselor and bible group leader. Tim started his own consulting firm in 1983 after ten years at Rockwell International Environmental Center and is now finishing 37 years of self-employment in the applied and research meteorology industry.



Cecilia (Girten) Windell ‘72- Cecilia happily retired in 2019 and is loving it. She has three grown children with seven beautiful granddaughters and one adorable great-granddaughter.

The Honorable Taryn Health '75-  Judge Heath was recently awarded the Crisis Intervention Team Advocate of the Year Award! Judge Heath reflected upon what makes STA unique and she shared that she "believes that STA’s greatest asset is the parent-school partnership. Her positive experience at St. Thomas Aquinas led her to send her son to the school with the peace of mind knowing he was in a healthy environment with friends and parents she trusts. STA prepared (me) for future success by focusing heavily on academics. This helped alleviate the pressure that comes with the transition from high school to college. I'm grateful for the discipline...STA instilled in me." Read more about the award.

Dorothea Caiazza ’77- Dorothea is working as Client Service Manager for Shook, Hardy & Bacon, a law firm in Kansas City, MO. In her spare time, she handcrafts sterling silver jewelry as the owner of Caiazza Creations. Dorothea is currently building a home in Eureka Springs, AR with her significant other, Ronald Henson.

Dennis Waldron '77- Dennis retired after 39.5 years with First Energy (Ohio Edison) as a Control Room Operator and moved from Ohio to Arizona.

Chuck Reda ’86- After working eight years training pro football players with the NFL, NFL Europe, and Arena Football, Chuck founded Reda Sports Therapy and Athletic Performance.

Ellen Giordano ’98- Ellen a Pediatrician in Surprise, AZ.

Neil Weakland '02- Neil is an accomplished filmmaker and has recently opened a new downtown Canton business that will help support the arts, The Cut Cinema and Vital Arts. Read more. 


Roland Dreussi ‘70- Dreussi has been married to his wife, Zita, for 42 years. The Dreussi's share four children, and three grandchildren together.
 
Class of 1973- In 2012, the "Shall We Dance Fund" was established to be of assistance to those in the STA Class of 1973. The fund assists those in need of a little extra help to move forward in life. The contributions supporting the fund come from the Class of 1973 alumni, their family members, or individuals who want to help. Frank Forchione ’78- Stark County Common Pleas Court Judge Forchione was honored by the Ohio Association for Justice as the 2018 Jurist of the Year.
 
Stefani Schaefer ’89- Schaefer co-anchors Fox 8 News in The Morning alongside Wayne Dawson and Kristi Capel.
 
Christine (Krok) Cegielski ‘91- Cegielski has recently returned to teaching English in Loudoun County, Virginia after raising her two sons who are now teenagers. 
 
Natalie (Barone) Weingar ‘02- Weingar was inducted into The College of Wooster’s W Association Hall of Fame on Oct. 19, 2019. Read more about her induction. 
 
Alison Silverio ’03- Silverio has been named the new women’s tennis coach at the University of Notre Dame after a successful run at Oregon. Take a look at her life after Aquinas.

Stephanie (Hunt) Boyd ’03- Boyd was recently named one of Stark County’s Twenty Under 40! She currently is a Hospital Executive at Aultman Health Foundation. Read more about her journey.

Julie Jakmides ’10- Jakmides currently works as a Law Clerk for Jakmides Law Offices & Alliance City Council and was named one of Stark County’s Twenty Under 40! Read more about her journey.

Tony Angelo ‘13- Angelo is the third of his generation to be sworn into the Canton Police Department. Read more about the accomplishment.

Mary Kate McHugh ’16- McHugh plays Volleyball for Notre Dame College in Cleveland and was recently named Player of the Week for the Mountain East Conference. Read more about her athletic journey.
 
Jimmy Burchett '17- Burchett is attending Notre Dame College and is majoring in Marketing. Burchett was recently named a Captain for the 2019 football team. 
 
Allison May '17- May is currently attending Baldwin Wallace University. She has a double major in Pre-Physical Therapy and Athletic Training. She was recently named Captain for the 2019 Volleyball Team.
