From the Principal

 Dear Regina Coeli Families,

I am honored to be here at Regina Coeli School as the principal, and I am looking forward to meeting you soon. This school year is one that will bring new blessings and challenges, but the staff and I are ready to meet each one alongside you. I look forward to encountering each event with you united in faith and purpose, as an environment of learning and growth is established for your children.

Catholic education is the vocation that the Lord has called me to, and the seeds for this calling were planted during my own childhood as a student here at Regina Coeli. The fantastic and dedicated educators and staff of this school were wonderful examples for me during my childhood. The lessons they taught me accompanied my growth in knowledge and faith as I moved on to St. Thomas Aquinas High School, The University of Mount Union for my undergraduate studies, and eventually Walsh University for my Masters in Education and in Administration. Many of the faces have changed, but I know that the educators and staff of Regina Coeli will provide the same fantastic foundation for your children.

I have served as an educator in the Diocese of Youngstown in various capacities since the fall of 2006. Since that time I have taught at Regina Coeli School, St. Paul School in North Canton, and have served as an educator and principal at St. Louis School in Louisville. I look forward to bringing my experiences and honed skills from these different times and places to service at Regina Coeli School. I will work alongside Fr. Joseph Ruggieri, the educators, and the staff of Regina Coeli in providing the best possible education to the students who walk through our halls. It is my sincere hope to be a blessing to this school and parish community, as this school has been a blessing to me.

God’s joy be upon you and your family as you enjoy your summer, and know that I wait with great excitement for school to begin this fall.

Yours in Christ,

Mr. Mario Calandros
